Kids Programs

PLEASE NOTE: All parents must sign their kids IN AND sign them OUT. If an alternate parent or adult is coming to pick the child up, they must have the child’s ID tag given at check-in. This helps us ensure the safety of your children.

Hey families! This is what’s up over the rest of our time together:

TONIGHT! (Monday)

Our little 0-3 year olds will be taken care of in their regular spot at EME and we are loving getting to know their personalities!

This evening for our other age groups:

4 – 12 year olds will be on site playing wide games on campus. Please bring running shoes or shoes that are comfortable enough to play around in and don’t forget those water bottles! Sun is tucked away but it’s still hot so let’s keep encouraging these kiddos to stay hydrated!

13+ MEET AT 6.30pm @ EME Are going for a hike at Knotts Mountain Park. Youth are asked to have adequate walking shoes, a water bottle (or 2), an extra set of clothes in case of rain.  Come pre-lathered in sunscreen and swimwear under their clothing if they would like to dip into the lake. We have lots of great adult leaders joining us but if your kid struggles with water or is not a confident swimmer, we do ask to be notified so that we can be extra attentive to them and hang with them on dry land.  There is NO licensed lifeguard on hand.  If there is a thunderstorm or pouring rain, we will be staying on campus.

TUESDAY’S KID ZONE ACTIVIES – MEET @ 8.45am in EME:

0-3 year olds will be taken care of in their regular spot at EME and Veggie Tales is our theme song (play it again they say! Lucky us!)

Tuesday evening for our other age groups:

4 – 9 year olds will be doing a “take-two” and heading to Kangaroo Creek Farm. Please bring your kids at 8.45am for sign up. We have a 48 passenger chartered bus booked to transport the kids leaving at 9.30am. Please note that on chartered buses, there are NO booster seats but they are insured to transport kids of this age and are aware that they are shuttling little ones. Please have kids pre-lathered in sunscreen, water bottles, and good shoes (sandals are fine but must not be cumbersome for your little ones to walk in). Lots of shade is available as well for a cool down time if it gets too hot out.

10 – 12 year olds are going for a hike at Knotts Mountain Park. Youth are asked to have adequate walking shoes, a water bottle (or 2), come pre-lathered in sunscreen and swimwear under their clothing if they would like to dip into the lake. We have lots of great adult leaders joining us but if your kid struggles with water or is not a confident swimmer, we do ask to be notified so that we can be extra attentive to them and hang with them on dry land. For this age group we will be restricting them to waist level water. There is NO licensed lifeguard on hand.

13+ will be doing wide games outside on site. You know the drill. Water, sunscreen, ready to play!

TUESDAY EVENING: ALL KIDS WILL BE ON CAMPUS!

0 – 3 year olds – we might change up Veggie Tales to The Donut Man but they will be well cared for and cuddled lots.

4 – 17 year olds will all be in their regular age groups on grassy areas on campus where the team will be hosting experiential wide games and activities.

IMPORTANT!

KID DROP OFF @ 4.30pm EME – Last banquet shuttle leaves UBC at 4.50pm. It’s a 6 min walk from EME to the Shuttle Pick Up so we will do our best to keep things moving promptly.

MOVIE NIGHT OPTION: (This is a potential addition).  UBC has an amazing theater that we can rent out so if we can snag this and depending on the energy levels on the kids, the team might host a movie night. For parents who are guarded about movie selections, we promise the movie will be FAMILY RATED ONLY. Some options we have on hand are Paddington Bear, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Hugo… but we might find another option in the same category.

FEEDING THE CROWD: We will be ordering pizza that is in high order in Kelowna so it’ll be a great treat for your kids. If you have dietary concerns with this, please do let us know. If you’re able to give us some guidance on those needs, we can do our best to accommodate.
